Pageflakes is your personalized homepage on the Web. Your favorite news, weather, sports, entertainment, photos, videos, music, email and much more – all on one page that you can access from anywhere. What's more, you can collaborate on your page with your friends, or publish it to the entire world.

Pageflakes is the easy and fun way to customize the Internet and make it yours!  Until now you had to go to different web sites to check your email, start Web searches, get weather information and so forth. With Pageflakes, you can put all the things that you like on the Web on one page. Moreover, you can use Pageflakes to share stuff with friends and to meet new people who share your interests. Best of all, Pageflakes is free!

What's a "Pagecast"?

"Pagecasts" are pages which users share with other users. There are two types of Pagecasts: Group Pagecasts are pages that are shared between friends or the members of a group and that can be viewed by invited members only. Public Pagecasts are pages which users have published to the entire world.

What does it cost to use Pageflakes?

Do I have to sign up for an account?

No, but we highly recommend that you do it so that all your settings are saved permanently and so that you can access your personalized homepage from any computer. Signup is free and takes less than 30 seconds.

I completed the wizard...what do I do now?

Based on your interests and your location we've automatically personalized your page with Flakes that you may like. Like a Flake? Keep it. Don't like a Flake? Remove it by clicking on the little "x" in the top right corner of the Flake. Want to add more things? Click on the big round Pageflakes button at the top right of the screen.

What's a "Flake"?

Those little boxes on your screen are called "Flakes". A Flake can contain weather information, news, photos, videos – even interactive tools like a calendar and a to-do list – and just about anything else you do on the Web at school, work and at home.

How can I add more Flakes?

Click on the big round Pageflakes button at the top right to choose from the most popular Flakes. To find more Flakes in categories like news, entertainment or sports, click "Browse Flakes". For even more Flakes, go to the full Flake Gallery in our Community Site.

How can I rearrange the Flakes on my page?

Simply left-click on the header bar of a Flake, keep the mouse button down and drag the module along the screen. Release the mouse button to drop the Flake at its new position. Try it, it works just like on your Windows or Mac desktop!

How can I remove a Flake?

Just click on the little "x" icon at the top right corner of the Flake that you want to remove.

How can I change a Flake's settings?

Most Flakes can be customized to your personal preferences. To choose your settings, just click on the little "edit" link at the top right of the Flake.

Can I change the title of a Flake?

Yes. Click "edit" to go to the Settings Area of the Flake and change the Flake title in the "Preferences" tab.

How can I read a Blog or News Feed with Pageflakes?

  • Click the big round Pageflakes button in the upper right corner of the page
  • Click Browse Flakes in the menu on the left
  • You'll find lots of popular Blogs and News Feeds
  • Go to the full Flake Gallery for an even bigger choice of Blogs, News Feeds and other Flakes.

How can I add Blogs or RSS Feeds which I don't find in the Flake Gallery?

  • Click the big round Pageflakes button in the upper right corner of the page
  • Click Add RSS Feed at the bottom of the menu on the left
  • Enter the URL of the RSS Feed
  • Click Get Feed

(Note:  You can also enter the URL of a website which contains an RSS feed)

What about OPML import?

If you're an expert RSS user, you may have an OPML file that contains all your favorite feeds.


  • Click the big round Pageflakes button in the upper right corner of the page
  • Click Add RSS Feed at the bottom of the menu on the left
  • Click Browse next to "Import OPML" and locate your OPML file
  • Click Upload


Can I use Pageflakes to listen to podcasts?

Sure thing. Click the Pageflakes button and add the Podcast Flake to your page. Then click "Edit" in the top right corner of the Flake to type or paste your favorite podcast URL. In addition, you can also find thousands of podcasts in our Flake Gallery. Tip: Use the "Filter by Flake Type" box in the right column to view all Flakes which contain music or podcasts.

What's that "Reader" link at the top of the page?

Clicking on the "Reader" link opens a special RSS newsreader view, which is particularly useful if you've subscribed to lots of blogs and news feeds. Try it!

Can I have more than one page?

Yes! Just click on "Add Page" at the top left to add another page.

How can I change the name of a page?

Just click on the page tab and start typing to change the page's title.

How can I delete a page?

Go to the page that you want to delete and click the little "x" in the top right corner of the page tab.

Can I change the page layout?

  • Click the big round Pageflakes button in the upper right corner of the page
  • Click "Change Layout" in the menu on the left
  • Select the layout you like
  • Click "Save Changes"

Can I change the order of my pages?

Can I change the background color or theme of my page?

  • Click the big round Pageflakes button in the upper right corner of the page
  • Click Change Theme in the menu on the left
  • Choose a theme
  • Click Save

What if I don't like any of the available themes?

If you don't like any of the pre-created themes or if you just feel like designing your very own theme, you can do that too! You can change almost every element of the page, including uploading your own pictures to use as a background or header.

  • Click Change Theme in the menu on the left
  • Select "Create Your Own Theme"
  • Go through each tab to customize your theme
  • Click Save or Finish when you're done

How do I "Take a Flake"

Share Flakes Using Take Flake
Take Flake lets you quickly copy any Flake’s HTML code. You can then paste the code into any website (that you publish on) to display that Flake. Got a blog? Try putting a Flake on one of your posts or in the sidebar.


  • Add the flake you want to your page
  • Click the envelope icon in the upper right corner of the flake
  • Click Take Flake
  • Make the page public if it isn't already
  • Copy the HTML snippet of code

Can I use Pageflakes from more than one computer?

How do I change my location?

You can change the setting for the city you live in.

  • Click on the big round Pageflakes button in the upper right corner
  • Click on My Profile in the menu on the left
  • Click on the Account tab in the profile window
  • Change the city next to "I live in"
  • Click Save Changes at the bottom

How do I change my account e-mail address?

  • Click the big round Pageflakes button in the upper right corner of the page
  • Click "My Profile" in the menu on the left
  • Click the "Account" tab
  • Next to "email address", you will see the link to change the address
  • Enter the NEW e-mail address
  • Enter your CURRENT password
  • Click Save

How do I change my password?

  • Click the big round Pageflakes button in the upper right corner of the page
  • Click "My Profile" in the menu on the left
  • Click the "Account" tab
  • Click "Change Password"
  • Enter the current and new password
  • Click Save

  • See under "Web address of (URL) of your Pagecast"


Tip: You can use the short version of your URL if you only have one page.
